Hello Autumn!

Yeah, it's autumn. Days are getting colder and shorter.

Luckily, today was still sunny and warm. It felt good to feel sun on my skin after a long, cold, cold week.

I love this dress, it has pockets. You gotta love a dress with pockets!
I bought it in second hand shop, and it was so big, I could drown in it. That's where my mother comes in the story. My lovely mother is a seamstress, and she fitted the dress for my figure. Thank you, mom.

I love the top of the dress, It's just... so romantic, which was perfect because I was on a walk, by the river, with my loving boyfriend.

For the jewelry, I decided for a beautiful amber brooch, that I bought really cheap on a random fair.

I really hope for some more sunny weather.
I'm not ready for the cold.

My favorite T shirt.

Do you like cut outs in your clothes?
I didn't.
Until I saw one; black, cut out T shirt, on a blog. Unfortunately. I don't recall the name of that blog anymore.
Anyhow, the T shirt was cut out in front, above the chest area, and the cut part was tied in a bow.
I don't know If you can picture it, but it looked awesome.

That is how I began a search for a similar looking T shirt. I had no luck at first, and was planning how I'll buy a black T shirt, and just cut it and do it on my own.

Time passed, and the T shirt slipped my mind. Until, one day, there it was.
I was going through pile of clothes in a second hand shop, when it caught my eye.

Even better looking one, than the one I saw on that blog.

For today I paired the T shirt with a grey wool skirt, that I got as a gift, and is originally from H&M.

It is really getting colder, so no more open toe shoes, and I definitely need to start wearing stockings/pantyhose.

Date night at home.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I planned a date night for today. That all fell in the water, when rain started, and It was just too cold to go anywhere.

So, to make our date night at home more romantic, I decided to make some danish pastry, that we both love.

I used store bought dough, canned peaches and vanilla pudding.

I sliced the peaches, because they were huge, and I made the pudding by instructions that were on the pudding package.

I rolled out the dough...

sliced it on six squared pieces.

There are many different ways how to style/make a danish. I decided on this one, because I didn't know how will pudding react when baked, and it makes a border so that pudding doesn't overflow. (It didn't.)

Filled up and ready for the oven.

Rising up in the oven.

They were really easy and fast to make,
 and they were delicious.

Swans and Tulips

"Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky was the first ballet I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I saw it when I was still to young to understand the heaviness of the story. Later on, I watched it on television, and I could finally comprehend what an amazing and heartbreaking story it is.

So, when I saw this blouse in a second hand shop, I just had to have it.

Pale
pink
 blouse with little
red
 swans.

I had to have it.

I paired my little flock of swans with a tulip skirt.

See? I don't just own a lot of flower patterns, I also have items in shape of a flower.

Yep, that sounds about right.

Movies and coffee

I have always been a fan of old movies and series. I'm talking about "I Dream of Jeanie", "Twilight Zone", "Bewitched", "Rebel Without a Cause", "Roman Holiday" and many others. But, there is one movie that will always stay in my mind as one of the best.

That movie is "Gidget".
The original came out in 1959 and it starred the adorable Sandra Dee.

It's a cute movie about surfing and falling in love...

and some gorgeous outfits.

I mean, look at those bathing suit.
I just love the the one that looks like a sailor suit.
Which one is your favorite?

...and the dresses, simply beautiful.

But it's not the fashion why I love this movie.

One hot summer night I couldn't sleep so I went to living room to watch something on television. My dad had the same idea. So there we were, with coffee, middle of the night, listing through programs, when this movie pops up. We were laughing all through the movie.

It is one of my favorite memory with my dad.

The nights got cooler after that.

Goodbye summer!

I always wanted to live near water. There were two rivers near my hometown, but not walking distance near.

Now, since I moved in with the love of my love, I live a minute walk from a river and I love it. My free time, of course, is now spent taking long romantic walks along river with my boyfriend. That is how we spend this sunny Sunday.

I kinda feel like summer slipped from my hands. It's already time for cardigans. This particular one, I got in second hand shop, it has thick lace and little golden beads.

Yeah, it was love at first sight.

Brooches and pins

I always liked jewelry, especially brooches. Once I turned to vintage fashion, my love for brooches only grew bigger. Brooch or a pin instantly makes any outfit alive.

So, I have collected quiet a collection of brooches and pins. Today, I'm gonna share some of my favorite ones

I got this pins from a street salesman. They have albums and albums of them, among those I picked, there were this two.

These two pins are actually made for a brand of mineral water, but I just fell in love when I saw them.

To the brooches...

The car and the boat I found on a vintage market. I find them very playful. Do you smile looking at your jewelry, or is it just me?

These three I bought recently, on a flea market. They were cheap, like insanely cheap. The lady was happy to sell them, I was happy to find them.

The last ones today, I bought online. They are not vintage, they just kinda feel vintage. Well... they feel vintage to me.

I might be lucky to not share fashion choices with the most people, even though people do stare... but at least more vintage stuff for me!

Let's start with... flowers.

No, this is not going it be just about flowers, or about gardening. This is gonna be about my love for flowers, and vintage, and cooking, and...hold it. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Today, just flowers.

I always loved colorful clothes, when I was younger that manifested in really crazy outfit combinations. Now, when I'm older I found my self still loving colors but in a different way. I never thought it would take me down vintage path but luckily it did.

My first experience with vintage was when I did my hair do as Veronica Lake "Peekaboo" hair. I just loved it. It was so feminine and just wonderful. From that moment I knew that that was me.

I hit the Second Hand Shops, vintage fairs, normal fairs and I began my collection of vintage clothes, scarfs, accessories, bags and shoes. And among all those wonderful vintage patterns there is the flower one.

Flowers on those wonderful scarfs...

flowers in the hair...

and all those beautiful flower dresses.

I also like them on the table.

I don't have just a lot of flower things... I also have a lot of polka dot things, but we'll leave that for some other time.
